Ver 8.0

If you are currently a user of Ver 8.0 of our Windows Software you can download the latest versions by simply clicking the Ver 8.2 Update banner text below. The latest version number is 8.2.2.15. In order to see what version you are running view the Lottery About Window in the software or the caption on the main Lottery window. The upgrade file is called Lot82exe.zip and is a WINZip archives. The Zip file contains a file called Upgrade8.pdf which is an Adobe Acrobat document that catalogues all the changes made to the software. This update will not convert a previous version of the software to a Ver 8.0 system. In order to do this you will need to obtain an Upgrade disk from us.

Ver 8.2 update contains a once only data re-structure of your Members and Deleted Members tables. Depending on how many Members you have on the system this re-structure might take a long time (20 minutes or more). Do not switch off your computer during this process and make sure other users are not trying to log onto the system.

Miscellaneous

The following four downloads give you templates for the various letters and scripts that you can use in the Lottery system. The Rich Text file templates can be used for Versions 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 of the software. The Microsoft Word documents can only be used with Versions 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 of the software. The SQL script files can be used with all versions. So that the files do not get confused with your own existing templates the filenames contain the text '-combase'

Upgrade Route

The suggested route for upgrading our software is as follows :

1. Make a backup copy of the file 'lotwin.exe' in your main Lottery folder.

2. Extract the files in the Zip file to a temporary folder such as 'c:\temp'.

3. Read the file 'Upgrade5.doc', 'Upgrade6.doc' , 'Upgrade7.doc' or 'Upgrade8.doc'  so that you are familiar with any changes that are being made.

The changes may include some instructions as to what to do on first running of the update.

4. Copy the temporary folder contents to your main Lottery folder.

5. Run the Lottery software from one workstation only to allow any changes to the data to be made - this may take some time depending on the size of your data files. When the Login form appears you can use the system normally.

The download files are all ZIP archives. In order to extract the working files from the archives you will need a copy of WINZIP. We are not providing self extracting ZIP archives anymore on this site since these files are now blocked by many systems as an Anti Virus/Spam/Spyware protection. We have now adhered to this rule followed by many ISP's and private firewalls etc.
